Marzipan Roses

Three little somethings for your pleasure. Tiny marzipan roses, each of them smaller than an Australian 5 cent piece in diameter, dusted with red edible glitter, just practicing making roses, the Peggy Porschen way. I always thought that I could make a decent rose, but to get them looking like a perfect florists rose is tricky. More practice is required.

You can expect more roses from now on, working up to a rose tower cake, in about 10 years when I have got them perfect!

Don't hold your collective breaths.

Thanks Deborah, it is one of my favourite things cake deco wise. Its hard not to put it on everything.

i think just about anyone who saw yours would say you can do them perfectly already! marzipan roses are fun, but i don't know if i'm delicate enough to make them so small! are porschen's books good from an instructional standpoint? i've seen them in the bookstores but have always just admired the pics.

Wow, these are gorgeous! This is the type of thing that I want to learn how to do so that I can make my baking look extra special.

Thanks for the great comments ladies.

Steph, I think her book is lovely, she goes through the techs quite well, but the perfection that she shows could be intimidating to some. My next post will have more on Peggy's Fondant Fancies.

Thank you Anita, but your decorating skills are non to shabby. Actually I would say stunning! And I haven't even mentioned your photography skills yet.

Cakelaw, you'll get there, get some books, the basic equipment and you'll be away.
