Mini Rose Cupcakes - Mary Kay

Mini Chocolate Cupcakes, styled with Pink Buttercream Rose and dusted with glitter. They are so simple and stylish, I don't know why I don't pipe roses more often. These I have to admitt were a bit rushed, due to a huge baking weekend (Starry Castle, Star Wedding Cupcakes aswell as a Mater Cake).

I find this picture very restful, it seams to reach into the distance. And yes, you may have seen these before, its a repeat order.

Each individual petal, is piped. You sorta get into the swing of it. Thanks for the lovely comments.

That's it - when I get back I am going to practice roses.
And you are slowly bringing me round to edible glitter!

What do you mean slowly, you should already be there. Want me to send you some?????

these are gorgeous! i am wondering what kind of buttercream you use to pipe these? they look very nice and firm. i am looking for a recipe that will hold up in warm weather (i live in a tropical country), would be grateful if you could help!! :)

These are just simple butter and confectioners sugar buttercream, They would hope up in airconditioning, and refrigeration, but not for too long at outside temps. I would try a italian or swiss buttercream recipe you might have better luck.

thanks for that :). i tried doing the buttercream roses last weekend using italian meringue frosting and you are right, getting the overall effect to look good is not that hard, i just need a little more practice to get the roses looking consistent.

Thank you for your comment Darvin, However I do fail to see the appropriateness of it. This post is about cupcakes, they are called Mary Kay because they were ordered by a friend for a Mary Kay business launch. I do not have any business association with Mary Kay.
